Cupcake Voting and I'm finally running again!

Ok, first things first. You can now go and vote for my cupcake creations. Just go to Gourmet Girl Magazine.com and vote for one or both of my cupcake creations. To refresh your memory, they were the Chocolate Orange and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcake.

Thanks!

Ok, and now, I'm sure you have noticed that for the last month I have just posted other people's running stories. That is because I haven't been running. All that beautiful talk about wanting to run just because I enjoy it and wanting to run for me and not because I want to look nicer for my hubby or so I can play longer with my kids just didn't happen.

I DO enjoy running. But the honest truth is that I am motivated by money! Yep, I said it, money. We have not signed up for any races so I don't feel that extra push. You know the little voice in your head (or your hubby standing next to you holding out your running shoes) saying, "You paid money to run that race, don't you think you should get out and train? Even just a little?"

So, yesterday I informed my sweet hubby that for my birthday (coming up in a month) that I wanted him to sign me up for next year's Country Music Marathon. If we sign up before the end of the month we can use a coupon that will save $15 off the fee, plus it is cheaper being so early. The price just keeps going up from there. $80 by the end of August (with coupon code), $95 by the end of the year, and $110 up to April 18th. That is a lot of motivation!

There is also a 1/2 marathon in mid September that is only $30, and one in November that is probably close to that. So, I want to sign up for a half this fall, and maybe one in Jan or Feb if I can find one close. Then I want to tackle the full in Nashville in April. I think I'm ready, I just have to get moving and training. That means I need to start plunking down some money. At least I know what motivates me. What motivates you?

You Go Girl!

I am motivated when I have signed up for a race, too. Without a race in the future, I find lots of excuses NOT to run. You need to come run the M'boro 1/2 this year--I'm signed up already....the only reason I've been running this summer. :()

When is it? The nice thing is that we can stay with family to cut down on travel costs.
