It looks better in real life. It got a little skewed when I tried to stretch it and make it larger so you could read it better.
I want to post this in my neighborhood newsletter. It goes out to 825 homes. Part of me thinks this is a great idea, but I am always scared of making a fool of myself and I will have to pay to advertise this. So, I need to know what you would think if you saw that business card in a newspaper. What would your first impression be? If you had a teen or if you didn't cook yourself would you be interested? Is the price reasonable? Brutal honesty is required here! I have 2 weeks to decide to do this or not.
Thanks!

I think it is a great idea. Do you need a permit or food handler permit to do this in your home? Also by reading the card I wonder if food included means taht I get to make a whole meal to take home with me? i think the price is great. And of course I am to cheep to spend the money myself but I know lots of people would find this a helpful class....
Hope that helps.
ok just reread the card and saw you get to take home food. With that the case the price is really good.
Wish you were in my area - I'd sign up.
Charity,
I think it's a fab idea. The ad looks great, the only thing you might want to add are some of the classes you want to teach: bread making (what kind), entre examples, etc. Then you could find out who wants to come to what class...start with the most interest and see where it takes you. I think the price is more than reasonable. When you get too busy and on demand (which I'm sure you will be...then just increase your price gradually). Sounds like so much fun! Best of luck! Let us know how it goes over at our healthy cooking group on mmb! hugs, trina (delightsgal)
I personally think you could charge more if they are taking a meal home and the lesson! That's a great idea! Good luck! It looks really good!
I think it's a great idea, I would come! And the price is reasonable I think...but is 1 hour enough time for a lesson and hands-on instruction? If you're keeping the class size small it probably would. Good luck!
*small typo...I think it's spelled entree (with 2 e's)
Thank you so much for the response. I posted this question on several sites that I frequent and have had an overwhelming Yes response. I am going to give it a try and keep you posted on the results. I am also going to start a cookbook project for the near future. Keep an eye out for it!
Yes! It is with 2 e's. I've fixed that and I've added a line that says only 4 spots available. I want to keep it small. The instruction will happen while we cook and I am keeping everything simple to begin with. Most meals can be prepared within 30 minutes.
My only problem with the ad is this: when you print in out in actually business card size...can you really read all of those copy? without too much trouble? even those tiny ones at the bottom?
You only have about 3-5 seconds to catch someone's attention. If there's too many things to read and people can't make out the selling point of the ad right away, it loses its effectiveness. Other than that, it's good.
The idea is good. You even know to start small with a few people and one class a week as trial. It's good. I wish you luck!!!
