The last two years have found me working towards living healthier with moderately regular exercise. I've gone from my highest non-pregnancy weight of 182 down to 164. That is a huge accomplishment and I am proud of where I am at now compared to five years ago. I look better, I feel better and I have more hope now that I can become what I want to become. It is now time to take it to the next level. To prove it I'm going to post some of the worst pictures I've ever taken. The first two are from 2003 and 2004. This was when I was at my heaviest and you can see how tired I looked. The second two pictures are from 2008. I've come a long way! I look younger and a lot happier.

This morning I woke up early and went for a short run in the cool misty morning. It was rainy lightly on me by the time I got home. Running got me to where I am now with just a few sporadic runs a week, and now it is going to take me past these last 19 lbs. My goal is 145 by next January. I have picked several local 5k runs to help me stay motivated. I am also going to post my progress every Friday so that will keep me accountable. If I gain weight you will know it and I'll know that you know it. Aaaahhh! I'm going to use peer pressure to my advantage.
Food wise I am going to continue making healthier choices and striving to listen to my body. By eating healthier smaller portions I will be able to get the nutrition and calories I need to sustain my running without adding extra weight. My biggest struggle is that when I have a meal that I really love I want to just keep eating it even after I'm no longer hungry. So, I will have to retrain myself to stop eating when I am satisfied--not wait until I'm "full" because by that point I've already eaten too much.
